The 2023 class in Washington is loaded with talent. Take a look at some of the hidden gems that have been flying under the radar, but deserve your attention. Each one of these guys has potential to be a solid player at the college level.
Kobe Parlin | 6’1 CG |
Parlin is at his best when attacking in transition. He can get to the rim and finish through contact, especially when driving left. He does a good job of finishing off two feet. He is a solid second-level scorer; has a nice dribble pull-up in his bag that he uses a lot when playing in PNR situations. Streaky spot-up shooter from 3. His biggest upside is on the defensive end; he is a strong on-ball defender. Catch him playing up with GAME Winner Basketball 17U.
Deacon Dietz | 6’3 SG |
Dietz is an above-average athlete with a high motor. He is a major threat in transition, with and without the ball. He rebounds well for his position and has a huge upside on the defensive end. His scoring ability is starting to grow as well. He has been hitting the 3 more consistently and taking better pull-up jumpers. He will turn a lot of heads on the UAA Circuit this July when he suits up for WA Supreme 16U. Big stock riser!
Brodie Avalon | 6’2 SG |
Avalon is a knockdown shooter with good size. He mainly hunts his shots in spot-up situations but can also make them coming off screens. He is more than just a shooter though. His ball-handling has improved which now allows him to create for himself off the dribble. He has good size for his position already, too. He is playing AAU for FTS Hoops 17U.
Giovanny Evanson | 6’5 SG |
Evanson is coming off a breakout sophomore season where he averaged 20+ ppg. The 6’5 wing can score the ball and in a variety of ways: spot-up 3s, middy pull-ups, and he will dunk on you. He needs to add more strength, but what he lacks in muscle he has in toughness. He doesn’t back down and loves to compete. Not afraid to take big shots either. Coaches buy stock now, this kid has the goods. He will be playing AAU for Upper Left Legion 17U.
Robert Rean | 5’10 PG | Rean is a solid PG with a bright future. He plays hard and has a good skill set. He’s quick with good handles and shoots the spot-up three consistently. He is a good playmaker, and he rebounds well for his position. He will be a player to watch for this July suiting up for a loaded International Elite 16U team.
Yanni Fassilis | 6’4 SF|
Fassilis is a dual forward; he can play inside, and out on the perimeter. He is a relentless rebounder, that can lead the break and be a playmaker. He punishes smaller defenders inside with his size and blows by bigger defenders from outside. He is a player coaches love to have on their team. He will be suiting up for Dynasty Red this July.
Soren Dalan | 6’10 C |
Soren is a tough cover down on that block. He uses his body well to seal for position and has a nice hook over the right shoulder. He keeps the ball high on rebounds and has a soft touch around the rim. He has good hands, good feet, and is pretty mobile for someone his size. He is a player to watch for this July and will be suiting up for International Elite 16U. Stock riser!
